Soy Sauce Eggs Recipe

Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup mirin
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sake
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 inch fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Place eggs in saucepan and cover with water
  2. Bring to a boil and cook for 6 minutes
  3. Remove and place in ice water
  4. Peel eggs and set aside
  5. In saucepan, combine soy sauce, mirin, sugar, and sake
  6. Add garlic and ginger
  7. Bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes
  8. Add eggs and simmer for 10 minutes
  9. Remove from heat and let cool
  10. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds
  11. Serve at room temperature
