Ingredients

  • 1 cup sourdough starter
  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornmeal

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix sourdough starter, flour, water, and salt.
  2. Knead on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 12-18 hours.
  4. Punch down dough and divide into 2 equal pieces.
  5. Shape each piece into a baguette.
  6. Place on a floured baking sheet and let rise for 2 hours.
  7. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).
  8. Score the top of each baguette with a sharp knife.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Cool on a wire rack before slicing.
