Ingredients

  • 2 pounds large shrimp, head-on
  • 2 pounds snow crab legs
  • 2 pounds mussels
  • 1 pound andouille sausage, sliced
  • 8 ears corn, halved
  • 2 pounds small red potatoes
  • 2 large onions, quartered
  • 1 head garlic, halved
  • 1/4 cup Old Bay seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 2 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 4 bay leaves
  • 2 lemons, halved
  • Melted butter for serving

Instructions

  1. Fill a large pot with water and bring to a rolling boil.
  2. Add Old Bay seasoning, cayenne, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and bay leaves.
  3. Add potatoes and cook for 10 minutes.
  4. Add corn and sausage, cook for 5 minutes.
  5. Add crab legs and cook for 5 minutes.
  6. Add shrimp and mussels, cook for 3-4 minutes until shrimp are pink and mussels open.
  7. Remove from heat and drain.
  8. Serve on a large platter with melted butter and lemon wedges.

Special Notes

This traditional seafood boil is perfect for summer gatherings. The key is timing each ingredient so everything cooks perfectly. Discard any mussels that don't open during cooking. Serve with plenty of napkins and cold beer for the ultimate seafood feast experience.
