Ingredients

  • 1 package San Giorgio lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound Italian sausage
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 1/4 cup red wine
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions
  2. In large skillet, heat oil over medium heat
  3. Add onion and garlic, cooking until softened
  4. Add ground beef and sausage, cooking until browned
  5. Add tomatoes, paste, wine, and seasonings
  6. Simmer for 20 minutes
  7. In bowl, mix ricotta, Parmesan, egg, and parsley
  8. Layer noodles, meat sauce, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella
  9. Repeat layers
  10. Top with remaining mozzarella
  11. Cover and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 45 minutes
  12. Uncover and bake for 15 minutes more
