
Sago Recipe
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sago pearls
- 4 cups water
- 1/2 cup coconut milk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup fresh fruit (mango, pineapple, or berries)
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Rinse sago pearls in cold water until water runs clear
- Bring 4 cups water to a boil in a large pot
- Add sago pearls and stir to prevent sticking
- Reduce heat to medium and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally
- Cover and let stand for 5 minutes until pearls are translucent
- Drain and rinse with cold water
- In a small saucepan, heat coconut milk with sugar and salt
- Stir until sugar dissolves and remove from heat
- Combine sago with coconut milk mixture
- Add fresh fruit, honey, and lime juice
- Chill in refrigerator for 30 minutes before serving
- Garnish with fresh mint leaves
