Ingredients

  • 2 pounds pork shoulder, cut into cubes
  • 2 cans (15 oz each) navy beans, drained
  • 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F
  2. Season pork with salt, black pepper, paprika, and cayenne
  3. In a large Dutch oven, brown pork on all sides
  4. Add onions and garlic, cook until softened
  5. Add tomatoes, brown sugar, molasses, ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce
  6. Stir in navy beans
  7. Bring to a boil, then cover and bake for 2 hours
  8. Remove lid and bake for 30 more minutes
  9. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving
  10. Serve hot with cornbread or rice
