
Korean Hwachae Recipe
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 2 cups sparkling water
- 1 cup mixed fresh fruits (strawberries, kiwi, grapes, etc.)
- 1/2 cup canned fruit cocktail
- 1/4 cup maraschino cherries
- 1/4 cup pine nuts
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine sugar and water.
- Bring to a boil and cook for 2-3 minutes until sugar dissolves.
- Remove from heat and let cool completely.
- Add lemon juice to the cooled syrup.
- In a large bowl, combine fresh fruits, canned fruit, and cherries.
- Pour syrup over the fruits and mix gently.
- Add sparkling water and stir.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to chill.
- Serve in individual bowls with ice cubes and pine nuts.
