Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, and hoisin sauce.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix cornstarch and water.
  3. In a medium saucepan, heat a little oil over medium heat.
  4. Add garlic and ginger, cook for 1 minute.
  5. Add soy sauce mixture and bring to a boil.
  6. Stir in cornstarch mixture and cook until thickened.
  7. Add red pepper flakes and sesame oil.
  8. Stir in chicken broth and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
