
Galbi Jjim Recipe
Ingredients
- 3 pounds beef short ribs
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup rice wine
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- 1/2 cup onions, sliced
- 1/2 cup carrots, sliced
- 1/2 cup daikon radish, sliced
- 1/2 cup shiitake mushrooms
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Soak short ribs in cold water for 30 minutes to remove blood
- Drain and pat dry
- In a large pot, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, rice wine, and sesame oil
- Add garlic, ginger, and black pepper
- Add short ribs and bring to a boil
- Reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour
- Add onions, carrots, daikon, and mushrooms
- Continue simmering for 30 minutes until vegetables are tender
- Add green onions and sesame seeds
- Simmer for 10 more minutes
- Serve hot with steamed rice
