  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, mix warm milk, warm water, 3 eggs, and melted butter.
  3. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms.
  4. Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down dough and shape into a loaf.
  7. Place in a greased 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  8. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes until puffy.
  9. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  10. Beat egg yolk with 1 tablespoon milk and brush over loaf.
  11. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  12. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
