
Dabeli Recipe
Ingredients
- 6 pav buns or dinner rolls
- 2 cups potatoes, boiled and mashed
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1/2 cup onions, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 2 tablespoons dabeli masala
- 1 tablespoon tamarind paste
- 1 tablespoon jaggery
- 1/4 cup pomegranate seeds
- 1/4 cup sev (chickpea noodles)
- 1/4 cup roasted peanuts
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat
- Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle
- Add onions and cook until golden brown
- Add garlic and ginger, cook for 1 minute
- Add dabeli masala and cook for 30 seconds
- Add mashed potatoes and mix well
- Add tamarind paste, jaggery, and salt
- Cook for 5 minutes until well combined
- Slice pav buns horizontally
- Spread butter on both sides
- Fill with potato mixture
- Top with pomegranate seeds, sev, peanuts, and cilantro
- Serve immediately
