
Chocolate Pound Cake Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F and grease a 10-inch bundt pan
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt
- In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition
- Beat in vanilla extract
- Alternately add flour mixture and sour cream, beginning and ending with flour
- Stir in milk until just combined
- Fold in chocolate chips if using
- Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top
- Bake for 1 hour 15 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean
- Cool in pan for 15 minutes, then invert onto wire rack
- Cool completely before serving
